Trading Journal Auto Import

Trading Journal Auto Import — every broker, one journal

If your journal makes you export a CSV every Friday, you already stopped using it in month two. TradeLogic streams trades from MT4, MT5, cTrader, OANDA and the major crypto exchanges — live, between trades, without you doing anything.

Why auto-import is the feature that decides everything

Every trading journal on the market technically 'supports' every broker. Read the small print and it usually means: you export a CSV, they parse it, and you re-do it every week. That works for a month. Then you skip a week, then two, and the journal quietly dies. This is the number-one reason journals get cancelled — not price, not features, friction.

Real auto-import removes the friction entirely. Trades flow in as they close. You open the app on Sunday and everything is already there — with the right entry price, the right commissions, the right partial closes. Your only job is the part software cannot do: tag the setup, add a screenshot, note what you felt.

TradeLogic was built auto-import-first. Where a broker has an API, we use it. Where it doesn't, we ship an Expert Advisor. Where neither works, CSV upload is one drag-and-drop — no column mapping, ever.

Every supported source, and how it connects

Here is the full map of ways your trades can reach TradeLogic. You can mix and match — one MT5 prop account, one cTrader personal, one Bybit — all in the same dashboard.

    • MetaTrader 4 (EA). Install TradeLogicSync EA, paste a token, closed trades stream live. Backfills recent history on first run.
    • MetaTrader 5 (EA). Same EA pattern, MT5 native. Works on prop firm accounts (FTMO, FundedNext, etc.).
    • cTrader (native Spotware OAuth). Click, authorise on Spotware's screen, done. Read-only token, revocable any time. Fills stream in with commission and swap.
    • OANDA (native OAuth). Direct API sync for OANDA v20 accounts. Historical backfill on connect.
    • Binance (read-only API key). Spot + USDⓈ-M + COIN-M futures. Withdrawal permission blocked by us.
    • Bybit / OKX (read-only API key). Spot and perpetuals. Fills grouped into positions with fees and funding tracked.
    • Kraken / Coinbase. Spot fills, staking rewards excluded so trading stats stay clean.
    • TradingView paper trading. Import wizard for TradingView 'Trade History' — great for backtested or paper accounts.
    • XTB, Plus500, IBKR (CSV / statement). One-shot statement upload — no column mapping, our parser detects the format automatically.
    • Manual entry. For anything else. Fast form, keyboard-first, defaults smart from your last trade.

    What 'live' actually means

For MT4 / MT5 the EA runs on your terminal and pushes closed deals to our API within a few seconds of the fill. For cTrader and OANDA we listen to the broker's own event stream via the OAuth-issued token. For crypto exchanges we poll every 30–60 seconds on the free plan and near real-time on PRO. In practice: by the time you tab into the journal after closing a position, the trade is already there.

That in-session presence matters more than it sounds. The tilt meter and rule-breach detection only work if data arrives during the session. A journal that only updates on Sunday can't warn you at 3 PM Friday.

Multi-account and multi-broker in one dashboard

Serious traders juggle accounts. An FTMO evaluation, a funded account, a personal live, maybe a Bybit for crypto. Every account you add appears in the multi-account selector at the top of the app — pick one, pick several, or pick 'all' to see combined performance. The equity curve, per-setup expectancy and session breakdown recompute instantly.

Prop firm rules only apply to the accounts they belong to, so your live account is never mixed with a challenge account by accident. If a broker has multiple sub-accounts (Binance master + sub, IBKR portfolio), each shows separately with its own rules and its own P&L.

    What happens on first connect

The first sync always backfills a chunk of history so your journal is not empty on day one. Default lookback is 3 months for brokers and up to 12 months for crypto exchanges, and you can widen it in settings. Duplicate detection is baked in — reconnect a broker after weeks off and no trade is imported twice. If you also upload a statement for the same period, we deduplicate against the API history automatically.

    Who this is for

    Prop firm challenger

Pain: Runs MT5 on FTMO + FundedNext + personal live. Excel copy-paste failed months ago.

Gain: Three EA installs, one dashboard, live rule tracking per firm.

    Crypto perp trader

Pain: 300 fills a week on Bybit — CSV export takes forever.

Gain: One read-only API key, fills stream in grouped into positions with funding + fees.

    Multi-platform discretionary trader

Pain: Trades cTrader for forex, Binance for crypto — no unified view.

Gain: cTrader OAuth + Binance API in the same account, one equity curve.

    TradeLogic vs the competition

'Supports X' varies wildly — sometimes it means live API sync, sometimes it means 'you can upload a CSV'. Here is the real picture.

    Frequently asked questions

Do I have to give you broker passwords?

No. For MT4/MT5 the EA runs locally with a personal token you can revoke. For cTrader and OANDA we use their official OAuth. For crypto we ask for a read-only API key with withdrawal permission disabled — we refuse any key that has withdrawal enabled.

How much history is backfilled on first connect?

3 months by default for brokers, up to 12 months for crypto exchanges. You can widen it in settings, and for older data you can also drop a statement or CSV — we deduplicate automatically.

    How live is 'live'?

For MT4/MT5, cTrader, OANDA — seconds after the fill. For crypto exchanges — every 30–60s on free, near real-time on PRO.

What if my broker is not on the list?

You can always upload a CSV or statement — our parser auto-detects most broker formats. If you have a broker you'd love to see natively, tell us; we prioritise integrations by demand.

Does it work with prop firms?

Yes — prop firm MT5/MT4/cTrader accounts sync exactly like personal accounts. TradeLogic knows the rulesets of 12+ firms (FTMO, FundedNext, etc.) and maps live P&L against them.

    What does auto-import cost?

Auto-import is available on the free plan for every supported source. PRO ($4.99/mo) adds unlimited AI Analytics, PIT-38 tax report and higher sync frequency.
