Prop Firm Trading Journal

Prop Firm Trading Journal built for the accounts that actually kill you

Prop firm rules are where challenges die — Daily Loss, Max Drawdown, minimum trading days, consistency. TradeLogic is a journal that also knows the ruleset of 12+ prop firms and warns you before you breach.

Why a prop firm trading journal is different

A normal trading journal cares about P&L, expectancy and setup performance. A prop firm journal has to care about all of that plus a second, stricter layer: the rules of the firm paying you. FTMO's 5% Daily Loss. FundedNext's Max Drawdown from equity high. The5ers' minimum trading days. FundingPips' consistency rule. Topstep's trailing max drawdown. Apex's end-of-day drawdown.

These are not exotic edge cases — they are the number-one cause of failed challenges. Something like 89% of first-attempt FTMO challenges fail, and the majority fail by breaching Daily Loss on a red day, not by missing the profit target. Any journal that ignores this reality is fine for a hobbyist and dangerous for anyone paying for evals.

TradeLogic ships prop firm rule tracking as a first-class feature. When you add an FTMO or FundedNext account, you pick the firm and phase, and the ruleset is loaded. Live P&L from your synced fills is compared against Daily Loss and Max Drawdown in real time. When you hit 80% of a limit, you get a push notification. When you hit 100%, you get a screaming alert to stop trading now.

    Firms and rules covered

The rulesets are maintained centrally and updated whenever a firm changes them. Today's coverage:

    • FTMO. Challenge, Verification and Funded — 5% Daily Loss, 10% Max Loss, profit targets by phase.
    • FundedNext. All eval models (Stellar, Express, One-Step, Evaluation). Correct Max DD calculation from equity high.
    • The5ers. Bootcamp and High-Stakes. Minimum trading days tracked.
    • FundingPips. One-step, two-step, three-step models. Consistency rule check.
    • MyFundedFX / MyForexFunds. Challenge phases and payout thresholds.
    • Topstep. Trailing Max Drawdown for futures accounts, tracked to the tick.
    • Apex Trader Funding. End-of-day trailing drawdown.
    • E8, FTUK, Alpha Futures, Tradeify, Lucid, Maven, Lux, MFF. Full coverage of the ruleset each firm publishes.

What you see in the dashboard

Each prop account gets its own card. Top of the card: three progress bars — Daily Loss, Max Drawdown, Profit Target. They update after every closed fill. You can glance and know, in one second, whether you can take another trade or you are one loser away from disaster.

Below that: today's trades, the current day's realised P&L, and the exact USD figure remaining to breach. No mental math, no calculator on the second monitor.

    • Live 80% / 100% alerts. Push on mobile, banner in-app, optional email. You cannot say you didn't see it.
    • End-of-day recap. 8 PM local time: today's P&L, remaining runway, per-setup breakdown, mistake picker prompt.
    • Multi-account switcher. Run three evaluations at once? See them side by side or one at a time. Combined equity curve available.
    • Per-firm ROI. Real payouts minus the cost of every failed evaluation. Which firm has actually paid off for you?
    • Tilt meter. Warns when your session pattern matches a historical blow-up sequence — losing streak, oversizing, time between trades collapsing.
    • AI review of the day. 'Was I disciplined today?' — the coach compares today's fills to your rules and yesterday's behaviour.

How it fits into your workflow

You do not need to change how you trade. Install the EA on your MT5 or MT4 (or authorise cTrader through Spotware — depends on the firm's platform), and TradeLogic reads what happens. Between trades you tag the setup and drop a screenshot. After the session you look at the day's card. That is it. The rule tracking is passive — you don't have to open the app to know you are safe, you get alerts if you're not.

Because it is a full journal underneath, all the normal stats are there too — expectancy per playbook, session breakdown, mistake ranking, weekly AI report. So the same tool that keeps you alive on the challenge also makes you a better trader over months.

After the challenge — the funded phase

Prop journals often assume you fail. TradeLogic assumes you get funded and then have to keep it. Once your challenge passes, switch the account phase to Funded — the ruleset updates (usually looser targets, same DD rules) and the tracker keeps working. Payout history can be logged too, so per-firm ROI becomes the real thing: what have I earned net of every attempt.

    How it works

    1. 1

      Add your prop account

Pick the firm, the phase, the starting balance. Ruleset loads automatically.

    2. 2

      Connect the platform

MT5 or MT4 via EA, cTrader via Spotware OAuth. Live fills stream into the account card.

    3. 3

      Trade normally

Rule tracker updates after every close. Alerts fire at 80% and 100%.

    4. 4

Read the daily recap + weekly review

What worked, what broke a rule, what to fix before the next session.

    Who this is for

    First-time FTMO challenger

Pain: Doesn't have a feel for how close 5% Daily Loss really is.

Gain: Live progress bar + 80% push alert. Stops before the breach, not after.

    Multi-firm eval grinder

Pain: 3 evaluations open, no clear picture of total sunk cost vs payouts.

Gain: Per-firm ROI card, combined equity, one place to compare firms.

    Funded trader keeping the account

Pain: One bad Friday and the funded gone.

Gain: Tilt meter + daily recap + rule tracker specifically designed for funded phase.

    Frequently asked questions

    Which prop firms are supported?

FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers, FundingPips, MyFundedFX, MyForexFunds, Topstep, Apex, E8, FTUK, Alpha Futures, Tradeify, Lucid, Maven, Lux — 12+ firms with full rulesets. If your firm isn't on the list, tell us; we add based on demand.

Does Max Drawdown calculation match the firm's own?

Yes. Max DD is calculated the way each firm calculates it — from equity high for most, trailing tick-based for Topstep, end-of-day for Apex. We update whenever a firm changes rules.

    How fast are the alerts?

Within seconds of the fill for MT5/MT4 (via EA) and cTrader (via OAuth). Push notifications require the mobile app installed and logged in.

Can I use it during the funded phase too?

Yes — that's a major use case. Switch the account phase to Funded and the ruleset updates. Payouts can be logged so per-firm ROI stays honest.

What if I trade multiple prop firms at once?

Multi-account switcher handles as many as you want. Each account has its own ruleset and its own tracker; combined equity is available too.

Is the rule tracker on the free plan?

Yes — the rule tracker itself is on free. PRO adds unlimited AI Analytics, tax reports and higher sync frequency.
