What is a pip?
A pip is the fourth decimal place in most forex pairs (0.0001). In JPY pairs a pip is the second decimal place (0.01). On gold, 1 pip = $0.01.
Why does the pip value change on USDJPY?
Because the quote currency is JPY, not USD. Pip value in USD = (position size × pip size) / current USDJPY rate.
