Intro — what The5%ers is
The5%ers is an Israeli prop firm founded in 2016 — one of the oldest on the market, long before the FTMO boom. Different philosophy: instead of "pass challenge → take payout every 14 days", The5%ers focuses on scaling the account. You start small, add capital per level, work toward a $4M funded account.
That's a completely different profile than FundedNext/FTMO. Less "challenge casino", more "trader career path". Hence both fanboys and haters.
The5%ers rules in a nutshell
Models (as of June 2026)
- Bootcamp (3-step) — most popular, cheapest entry, 4× scaling at every 6% gain
- Hyper Growth (2-step) — higher target, faster scaling, bigger accounts
- Instant Funding — funded right away, but low starting balance and harsh DD
Bootcamp — the key model
- Profit target: 6% per level (Level 1 → 2 → 3)
- Daily Loss: 5% from daily balance
- Max Drawdown: 4% (trails to break-even, then static) — TIGHTEST DD in the industry
- Min trading days: 6 per level
- No time limit — Level 1 can take you the whole year
- Weekend holding: YES
- News trading: restricted (high-impact: blocked 2 min before/after)
Fees (Bootcamp, June 2026)
- $5k → ~$95
- $20k → ~$245
- $100k → ~$595
Payouts and scaling
- Level 1: 50% split, payout after first profit split
- Level 2: 75% split, balance ×4
- Level 3: 100% split + balance ×4 (up to max $4M)
- Payouts every 14 days or on-demand
Pros
- Oldest prop on the market (10+ years) — in an industry where firms vanish in 6 months, that's huge credibility
- No time limit — trade at your own pace, no 30-day pressure
- Daily loss from balance, not peak — easier to control (like FundedNext, unlike FTMO)
- Scaling to $4M — highest ceiling in the industry
- 100% split in Level 3 — unmatched anywhere
- Cheap entry — $95 for a $5k account is a great no-risk test
Cons
- Max DD 4% — drastically tight. FTMO/FundedNext are 10%, here you have 2.5× less. One bad week = bust
- 3 stages instead of 2 — longer to funded, more failure points
- Starting split 50% — low vs 80% at FTMO; full split only at Level 3 (months away)
- News restrictions — 2 min ban before/after high-impact, more restrictive than FTMO
- Platform UX — dashboard looks like 2018, reporting is sparse
- No instant payout — must hit profit split, no "take it today"
Who The5%ers makes sense for
- Swing / position traders — 4% DD doesn't hurt when you take 2-3 trades a week with big R:R
- Traders with small risk per trade (0.25-0.5%) — because 4% DD = max 8 losses in a row
- Career-minded — want to build a big account over a year or two, not take a payout in a month
- Small challenge budget — $95 for $5k is the cheapest real test in the industry
Who it does NOT make sense for
- Scalpers / day traders — 4% DD will wipe in the first drawdown week
- Aggressive 1-2% per trade sizing — math doesn't allow it (4% DD ÷ 1% per trade = 4 losses to bust)
- News traders — high-impact restrictions kill your edge
- People wanting fast payouts — wrong prop

CTA — how to survive The5%ers' 4% DD
The5%ers has the tightest max DD in the industry (4%) and it trails to BE. Meaning even if you control daily loss perfectly, you can bust through trailing after two good days + one bad.
Prop Firm Tracker in TradeLogic has a The5%ers Bootcamp preset — enter level and balance, and the tracker computes trailing DD in real time, shows buffer, and blocks new trade entry if it would break the rule.
Sign up for a free TradeLogic account, add The5%ers in 2 minutes, and stop losing Level 1 to trailing drawdown.
